Established by Madeleine Taylor in 1999, MMTNYC Architecture + Interiors is a boutique design studio based in New York City with a satellite studio in Salt Lake City engaged in a range of concept-to-completion projects with a focus on high-end interiors. Working at the nexus of architecture and interiors, our approach to design is one of committed collaboration with our clients along with a passion for detail and for setting the bar high. We guide our clients through the full experience of conceptualizing and accomplishing a project from first thoughts to final resolution.

Process

A project begins with a desire or a need, or both. We find that an initial conversation is the best way to begin to explore possibilities and strategies. From there, an exchange of ideas paralleled by steady monitoring of requirements, budget and craftsmanship empirically shape a project throughout its full arc.

Philosophy

We believe that flow and functionality are always key. We have an appreciation for subtlety, strength, visual logic and materials that are honestly expressed. Our investigations are thorough yet we allow room for improvisation. Being essential halves of a whole, we think that exteriors and interiors should relate. We are mindful that light and shadow create their own materiality and know that absence can be as powerful as presence. Our experience has taught us that great challenges bring about the most imaginative solutions, and our expertise enables us to transform the design visions of our clients into personalized realities.
